Building a Platform from Scratch
A retired astronaut and Navy SEAL with an extraordinary story and no public platform. Six weeks later: a brand, a website, and eleven national broadcast appearances.
The Challenge
Chris Cassidy's record is almost unmatched - Navy SEAL, Bronze Star with Valor, two combat deployments, three spaceflights, ten spacewalks, and commander of the International Space Station.
What We Did
The Hipsetter Group built Astro/Seal as a brand platform to launch a business. We developed the positioning around the one thing genuinely his - the combination of elite military service and spaceflight - then built the platform and the media strategy to establish it publicly.
Timing mattered. We launched astroseal.net alongside Artemis II - the first crewed mission to the Moon in over fifty years, and the moment the country re-engaged with human spaceflight. A new platform arrived exactly when the press was looking for voices who could speak to it with authority
Execution
The Astro/Seal website launched in April. Around it we ran a national media campaign that placed Cassidy across:
Television - Anderson Cooper and Laura Coates on CNN, CBS News, The Ingraham Angle and 7 other national/international media outlets.
Radio - a six-market national tour in top 10 DMAs.
Call of Duty Video Game — A major activation with Activision and the Call of Duty Endowment, introducing Chris to millions of players as a Call of Duty Operator to directly fund veteran job placement. Read the full Call of Duty Case Study.
Impact
Eleven confirmed national television appearances in a single month, plus 1.5 million radio impressions -from website launch.
Demand exceeded the calendar. Six additional major national and international outlets requested Cassidy but could not be scheduled.
Astro/Seal now operates as an established platform for speaking, partnerships, and commercial work -a model Hipsetter can build for any client with a story and no infrastructure around it.
